How Stillness Buddy works
In our day-to-day lives, we rarely take a moment to be still inside. We have so many things to do, constant pressures at work, urgent deadlines, phone calls, and so on.
More importantly our minds rarely stop thinking. There is a non-stop stream of thoughts, often about the same thing, over and over. There is hardly any inner silence within us.
As a result, we become cut off from the deeper, more real part of ourselves. We lose touch with the peace, joy and stillness that we are.
Stillness Buddy is a great tool that you can use to cultivate more stillness and awareness in your every day life. It doesn't require you to meditate for an hour every day or to go away to a secluded retreat.
You become still, in the midst of your busy life, by regularly practicing simple yet powerful exercises that are displayed on your desktop screen. These are presented during two types of pauses:
- Moments of Stillness, which are very short breaks, typically lasting 20-30 seconds, that appear every 30 minutes or so.
- Mindfulness Pauses, longer breaks, which may last 1 to 2 minutes, usually appearing every hour and twenty minutes or so.
As you can see, the pauses are very short, so that they don't interfere with your work. Of course, you can change the frequency and duration of the pauses according to your preferences and schedule.

Stillness Buddy includes many different Moments of Stillness and Mindfulness Pauses exercises. All these are very easy to follow, no special preparation or instruction is needed. Anyone can do them!
The exercises are very discrete. They have been designed so that you can do them in the middle of the office, without anybody noticing that you are taking a very important moment to re-connect with your own stillness.
By regularly practicing these exercises with your undivided attention, you will gradually extend your inner stillness to the rest of your life, into everything you do. You will feel more joy and aliveness. You will be more at peace and feel more contented. Over time, you will naturally radiate more peace to everyone and everything around you, which will be a wonderful contribution to the world.
